The Undersheriffs' Circle

Serving as the second in command in a public safety agency is a role full of responsibility, risk management, and politics. This is especially true in a Sheriff’s Office. Serving an elected official means that you are there to help make their vision a reality, motivate your team, hold everyone accountable and run interference so the Sheriff isn’t bothered with things that can be addressed at a lower level. Additionally, this role requires the ability to mentor, coach and develop new leaders, maintain a global perspective, even when local politics demand all your attention.

When you add these responsibilities to the national level politics, the changing landscape of law enforcement, doing more with less, and having a reduced pool of qualified applicants, the role takes on a new level of stress and overwhelm.

Undersheriffs and Chief Deputies need a space where they can be authentic, vent, seek support and find genuine connection with their peers. Additionally, they need access to direct mentorship, cutting-edge training with CEU’s, discussions of policies, procedures, new legislation, vendor recommendations, and more for navigating these complex times.

The Undersheriffs and Chief Deputies Circle is an innovative program developed and led by public safety psychologist Dr. Kimberly that provides members with a space to receive:

  • Support, validation, and a community of others who can truly relate
  • Immediate access to Dr. Miller for urgent or time-sensitive matters
  • Brainstorming sessions on new approaches for policing
  • Peer insights about innovative technology and the latest best practices
  • Training and CEUs on leading-edge, essential topics
  • Perspectives on vendors and products
  • Proven strategies to thrive under pressure, avoid burnout, and prioritize your wellness
  • Realistic and sustainable self-care practices to build long-term resilience

Chief Brice Current

Durango Police Department

“The networking opportunities alone have been worth the membership. Still, the value lies in the shared wisdom, the personal peer support, and the continual learning in every conversation”.

Chief Eric S. Sonstegard

Edgewater Police Department

“As a new police chief, I faced a myriad of issues transitioning from a large agency to a small agency as well as tackling issues for the first time as THE Chief. The Chief’s Circle allowed me to grow a network of contacts up and down the state that I could listen to and learn from. Candidly, it’s kind of cathartic to hear other Chiefs lament about problems they’re dealing with and know that you’re not the only one dealing with some of those things”.

Chief Dale E. Meek "Gene"

Wrangell Police Department

“I will remain a member of this wonderful program for as long as I carry the mantle of “Chief” and would encourage all who lead to join and share in a positive culture of mutual emotional support.”

So, what's the investment?

While programs of this nature would typically be upwards of $4,000-$8,000 annually, this is not what you’re going to invest...

I’ve priced the 2025 Circles at $2,100 ($175/month, paid annually for 12 months from the date of registration).

 No, that’s not a typo.

I want this to be a no-brainer and support you in a wholehearted yes to receiving all the benefits of being a member.
