The PSAP Directors' Circle

Communications Centers are one of the most important aspects of public safety, and it takes the right kind of person to succeed in this fast-paced, hectic, and sometimes critical environment. However, as you go up in rank, responsibilities increase, along with more stress and bigger decisions. It’s not cliché to say “it’s lonely at the top”, because it is! Those individuals who lead these centers in Director roles have the most stress and are often isolated in their roles because there are few people they can truly open up to for help and support. 

PSAP directors need a safe and confidential space where they can be authentic, take a breath, and find genuine connection with other experts in their field. In addition, they need to have a space where they can complain, say all the things they wish they could say, but know they can’t, ask the questions they have been afraid to ask, and receive mentorship and guidance from their peers. 

These circles have been created to fill the voids, improve executive development, eliminate the loneliness, build strong leaders, brainstorm personnel issues, share cutting edge strategies, and get the mental and emotional support you need to stay resilient in your career.
